Just myself

Just myself

So, a little about me.
I’ve spent the better part of my life in the foothills of the Mountains of Appalachia. While I have considered moving to other parts of the country, I just can’t pull myself away from the rolling hills we call mountains. I’m married to a woman that’s beautiful inside and out. We have two daughters whose beauty is matched only by their wit and cleverness. They are certainly bright and imaginative children.

I love telling stories. Both fiction and non-fiction race to get from brain to page. It’s not always great but that’s why editors, constructive feedback, and rewrites exist. My passion is communication. I write for two reasons. One, because I enjoy it. Two, for the purpose of starting a conversation. Something that I feel is missing in our society today is the ability to slow down and listen to what someone has to say. If we would stop and engage in meaningful dialogue, then everyone can grow and learn; we’re all better off for it.

Our stories make us immortal. We know of Shakespeare, Wilde, Hemmingway, Tennyson, Shelley, and countless others because they took the time to write. Even the stories that are not non-fiction give insight into the minds of the people of the time. Think about what we’ve learned regarding history, just because someone decided to write it down! How much more important is it that each of us write our own stories to share with the generations to come? Maybe we’ll never be as well known as the greats, but I promise when you’re great-great-grandchildren read the story of how you met your spouse … you’ll be great in their eyes.

The real deal, in the digital universe I’m typically known as ‘The Celtic Friar’, but here’s the man under the hood and a little about me.
